US Govt contracting is a funny affair

so..here is a funny story from today...(background: I work currently in a US government contracting place...and have basically quit...last day on Friday...they offered me a job with no pay and thought I'd say yes...because the honor of working here should help me survive on bread and air - The offices are all in boats kinda koo koo...and not as cool as it sounds...so now the story continues)

All the bathrooms on all 8 boats are outta order so we're all running around like chickens on the docks because its sooo cold in all the boats that everyone wants to pee and there are no bathrooms to be found! Basically the water in the Potomac has iced over and all the pipes of all the boats are frozen...so there are all these ppl desperate to pee...so im one of the mad ppl running around trying to find a bathroom (till now seriously unsuccessful)...no wonder nothing gets done in any of the developing countries we work in....we're all trying to keep busy and not pee in our chairs...You'd think for all the money the beltway bandits make, they'd have an office that had functioning bathrooms and zero risk of dying of hypothermia....some guy fell into these waters a few days ago....homeless folk pulled him out...he is still in hospital recovering from hypothermia....at the rate at which we are losing access to bathrooms, half this office is going to get kidney stones and the other half...well....internal hypothermia!!!

Anyway, getting back to the work, or lack of work - The US government (the republicans) got trashed today!!! The Office of the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction says billions spent on security have had a limited effect, while waste and fraud have cost tens of millions. Special Inspector General Stuart Bowen says 2006 was the worst year yet.
If you want to read the report that trashes the work the US has supposedly been doing in Iraq, and want the information from a credible source, here's the link:

Happy reading!! I certainly took pleasure from this report!
